A code of ethics is a formal statement of the values and principles that guide an organization's actions and behavior. The essential elements of the code of conduct are described below:
1. Mission and values:
Work with all the means at your disposal, for human development in its full potential. Our values are ethical principles, credibility, impartiality, social responsibility, transparency, modernity and solidarity.
2. Commitments to transparency and accountability:
The institution undertakes to act transparently in all its operations and to be accountable to stakeholders.
3. Social responsibility of the Institution and its employees:
All employees must be personally responsible for complying with the Code of Ethics and Conduct. In particular, collaborators must:
a) Perform their functions honestly, with zeal, diligence, professionalism, impartiality, integrity and, in a non-partisan manner;
b) Act without financial interests in the activities carried out and prevent the misuse of the Institution's name for any private interests;
c) Focus on impartiality, without giving preferential treatment to any private entity or individual;
d) Report fraud, abuse and corruption to the competent authorities;
e) Repel any form of discrimination or harassment by promoting an environment that respects the skills, experiences and individual characteristics of all our employees and assisted.
f) Act in accordance with the legislation, statutes, rules, regulations, in accordance with the provisions of the respective Code of Ethics and Conduct;
4. Commitment to respect for Human Rights, diversity and inclusion:
The Institution must:
a) Promote and defend Human Rights, committing to respect them in all its activities.
b) Likewise, promote diversity and inclusion in all its operations.
5. Responsibility with the environment:
The Institution must act responsibly towards the environment, seeking to minimize the environmental impact of its activities, if any.
6. Conflict of interests:
The Institution must establish procedures to identify and avoid conflicts of interest in its activities, having as a parameter the mission and values present in the Bylaws, as well as in this Code of Ethics.
7. Appropriate use of resources:
The Institution undertakes to use its resources appropriately and efficiently, ensuring that they are used to achieve its goals and objectives in a sustainable and humanitarian manner.
8. Anti-corruption provisions:
a) Collaborators must act with integrity and ethics in all their activities, corruption or any other form of unethical behavior is not tolerated.
b) Collaborators and members of the Institution are prohibited from offering, promising, making, authorizing or providing, directly or indirectly, any undue advantage, payments (including facilitation payments), gifts or the transfer of
anything of value to any person, whether a public official or not, to influence or reward any official action or decision of such person for his or her benefit or that of IDAS.
c) All other conduct, of action or omission, that may result in violation of the principles and values of IDAS and current legislation, in particular the Anti-Corruption Law and articles 317 and 333 of the country's Penal Code, are prohibited.
9. Data and information protection:
Collaborators undertake to protect data and information related to their activities and the people assisted at the Institution, ensuring that the information is used in a safe, appropriate and confidential manner. Likewise, with regard to the application of the General Data Protection Law.
10. Reporting Infractions and Sanctions
All collaborators have a duty to follow and report any violations of the provisions of this Code of Ethics. Furthermore, they will be conditioned to the fulfillment of sanctions in case of infractions, as well as the disrespect of this Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Doubts and omissions will be handled by the Ethics Committee.
