solidary welcome project

The Therapeutic Setting Project consists of the environment in which psychological services are held. Psychological care can also be called psychotherapy or therapy. Our Therapeutic Setting Project provides the patient with a welcoming environment, whether virtual or face-to-face, an active, accurate and specialized listening service so that the patient feels comfortable to talk about his issues, his pains and his anguishes, free of judgment.

Listening, for Freud, became more than an art, it became a method, a privileged route to knowledge, to which patients gave him access (GAY, p.80, 1989).

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process mediated by a specialized professional, who works on psychological, emotional and physical factors, using a set of tools and techniques, so that the patient achieves well-being, physical, mental, psychological and spiritual. The duration and type of therapy used will depend on the symptoms, severity of the situation, personal needs and wishes of the person. The main factor for the success of the treatment is the patient's commitment to himself and to his treatment.

Benefits

Some benefits of the psychotherapeutic process are the development of self-knowledge, motivation for life, improvement of interpersonal relationships, development of new behaviors, elaboration of traumas, self-perception of emotions and feelings, increase in self-esteem, improvement in the perception of self, elaboration of mourning, separation, losses, and promoting more satisfactory decision making, among others.

How it works

Each person will respond to the process in a different way. We usually say that the process is sovereign, it happens. For some people it happens more slowly, for others more quickly. But if the patient is not committed to himself and his treatment the process becomes corrupted.

The Federal Council of Psychology is the regulating organ of the psychology profession, and points out that psychological consultations must follow a protocol of 50 minutes once a week.

Duration of the Process

The duration of treatment will depend on the development of the patient and the nature of the issues to be worked on.

It is not possible to determine a specific time frame for the duration of treatment. The main factor that contributes to the generation of results is the patient's dedication, discipline, and commitment to the treatment.

The patient is free to determine when to stop psychotherapy, but ideally this decision should be made in agreement with the therapist, because not always when the patient decides to stop therapy he/she is elaborating, what happens sometimes is the resistance to uncomfortable memories.
